Being  a City constituency we must provide greener, more affordable homes for our growing population. With a lack of space in Bristol West we will need to be creative with our brownfield sites and ensure the homes we build are energy efficient and affordable. 

In addition to already relaxing the rules around change of use from office to residential, Conservatives in government will create a Brownfield fund to unlock construction on brownfield land and require local authorities to have a register of available land. We will ensure that 90 per cent of suitable brownfield sites have planning permission by 2020.

In the rental market, I am supporting the Acorn Ethical letting Charter, to urge all Bristol landlords and letting agents to sign up to fair rents and treatment of tenants. I will fight to make sure all Bristol West constituents get a fair deal and work for affordable homes for our growing population.
